Anibal Ruiz Speaks
Paraguay coach Anibal Ruiz sat down with a reporter from FIFA and gave these thoughts about Paraguay’s preparations and chances at the World Cup. One comment that caught my attention was this one about what the team talked about during its recent get together in Wales:
We didn’t just talk about football, we took the opportunity to tell them about our stay in Germany – we spoke about the places where we’ll be staying and explained to them that while they are not five-star hotels, they are ideal for a national team that is ambitious, that respects the opposition and is determined to put in a big performance.
Man, I’d be bummed not staying at a five-star hotel. Hopefully the team at least gets four-star treatment.
By the way, we’re still looking for someone to blog about Paraguay. Send an email to bob [at] worldcupblog.org if you are interested in sharing your passion for Paraguay with a global audience. Thank you.
