InjuryWatch: Roque’s knee is getting better…
Today the Paraguayans Medics informed that the evolution of the knee of Roque is going great. Yesterday he trained in double shift, first making some running and later in the gym. At the end of the day Roque announced that he is not longer feeling any pain in the knee, so we expect that this is a good signal.
Between today and tomorrow is expected that Roque receives the final OK from the medics to return to the normal practice with his team mates. Roque told that at first when he felt the pain weeks ago, he really was afraid of his condition, but after the medics made all the necessary tests and found that it was only an inflammation he felt released.
Although that he won’t be playing in tomorrow’s friendly game against Georgia, it is expected that he will be part of the starting line-up against England. I really don’t know if it will be a great idea putting a player that recently recover from an injury that only played a few minutes in a couple of games in an important match like this one, but Roque knows well the Paraguayan strategy, he played almost all the qualifying games so I think that this would not be a problem always than he feel secure and don’t be afraid of injuring again.
In the other hand at least the great evolution that Nelson Cuevas is showing in the friendly games gives us hopes that he could replace Roque as Nelson Haedo’s mate in the offensive line. But having a full recover and sharp Roque can make a big difference in the performance of the team, is still fresh in the memory of the fans the game against Argentina in Asuncion, where Roque and Nelson were the nightmare of the Argentinean defense.
