Dam Ruiz was a bad coach, I hope Martino’s better. We’ve got some brilliant players; Santa Cruz, Valdez, Dos Santos, Cardozo (Oscar) and Caceres. We should show that we can compete regularly with the best in the world. I want to see us atleast reach the quarters in the next finals.

umm, paraguay were a bit rubbish(no offense), but it is sad that they lost so soon!
in school i had to support paraguay in this game we played, so i was pissed off, but o well! haha, LOSERS!

Honestly i’m upset for paraguay losing two matches coz they really did there utmost. I was quite impressed by Nelson Valdez. He really tries his best. Hopefully we’ll see him play again in four years time, and def am sure that he’ll be one of the players to be heard abt in the coming future . You’re the best Valdez

This is Satya from India. Can someone please explain to me why the Paraguayan coach never started with Nelson Cuevas. Even when he was sent in as a sub, it was more often than not late into the match with a few mins remaining when all was lost. I am not aware of the kind of talent that is there in the other players, but this Cuevas is a real wonder!

I first watched this wunderkid in the 2002 worldcup, when he scored those two stunners against Slovenia and helped Paraguay into the 2nd round. He was 20 then, he is 4 years older and obviously more mature and skilled than before. He would be dream striker for any team – excellent ball control, lightning fast reflexes and a strong kick! He along with Nelson Valdez would have made a deadly combination!

That begs the question as to why he wasnt given enough time on the pitch! I wanted to know what is the general perception of Cuevas in the Paraguyan public and media!
