Lagerbaeck: “Paraguay is being underestimated…”
The head couch of the Swedish team Lars Lagerbaeck told to the Aftonbladet that Paraguay is a strong rival with individual quality. Because Paraguay finished the qualy six points below Brazil and Argentina after 18 games, and considering than they won both teams in the last two qualifications, Lagerbaeck affirms than the Paraguayan team is well organized and their coach knows what he wants.
He continued the interview saying that England and Paraguay are superior in technique than Sweden, but that will compensate with being well organized in their game. About their team he said that this Swedish team in better than the team that played in the last Euro Cup. Also the coach told that he prefers play a boring game but then win 1-0, than play great games and don’t make to the next round. Finally he affirms that Sweden in a good day could win any team, and with 7 good days they could go very far.
I will like to highlight two things about this interview: first, I think that after 3 consecutives World Cup we are earning more respect from our rivals, and second, that in this group we will see very rough games with only few goals.
