Truths and myths about the first World Cup match…
That England is one of the candidates for winning the World Cup, I think that anyone could denied, main reasons: their football history, their high competitive Premier League, and finally their good players, even though some looks more as model than players
As you probably know, Paraguay will face England in Frankfurt on June 10. There are all kind of opinions about facing the stronger team in the first presentation of the World Cup. Let’s try to analyze some of the opinions.
Historical first match results. Every World Cup that I can remember, one of the strong candidates lost in their first match. Remember the Korea-Japan World Cup France-Senegal, where the champions lost 0-1l; France ’98 (Nigeria won against Spain); and the unforgettable victory of Cameroon against Argentina in Italy ’90. So why can this be the destiny of the English team?

The sooner, the better. The more pessimist hold that if you know that there will be a match that you probably will lose in your group, the sooner you play that match, the faster you can recover from it and play with all your heart the next matches to obtain the pass. This probably is the opinion of our own coach.
Not so sharp yet. One might say that considering that these is the first match, the teams don’t are very sharp yet. There still can be players that don’t adapt to their positions, or benchwarmers that can make more damages that the ones who start the game. Considering that the Paraguayan team comes from a very long qualifying phase and they probably won’t change their strategy, this could give them some advantage, but I think England players know pretty well each other too.
If you want the championship you need to win everyone. This is my favorite option, if Paraguay wants to enter in the pages of history, we need to give every thing in the field, an try to win everyone, not only speculate the result. I think we had material to confront this match, and I hope the next June 10 I’ll be blogging a great article pretty happy and drunk
