Paraguay returns from Oceanic Tour

With our sights set on the Copa America of next year, Gerardo Martino called a squad made up of some World Cup veterans as well as some brand new, less known players. Martino has been emphatic about not using the Copa America as a testing ground next year. He wants to have a team that is ready to go and bring the title home.

Squad

Goalkeepers: Justo Villar, Diego Barreto.

Defenders: Claudio Morel Rodríguez, Darío Verón, César Benítez, Paulo Da Silva, Antolín Alcaraz, Carlos Bonet.

Midfielders: Enrique Vera, Osvaldo Martínez, Hernán Pérez, Néstor Camacho, Cristian Riveros, Víctor Cáceres, Derlis Orué, Osmar Molinas, Marcos Riveros.

Strikers: Federico Santander, Nelson Haedo Valdez, Óscar Cardozo, Édgar Benítez.

The lesser known players in the list above are Cesar Benitez, from Cerro Porteño. The the experimental midfielders in this list are: Hernán Pérez (Villarreal B, Spain), Néstor Camacho Club Rubio Ñu, Derlis Orué (Olimpia), Osmar Molinas (Olimpia), Marcos Riveros (Club Nacional). Finally, the striker Federico Santander of Tolouse, France was also included.
