Spain Preview: The Kuriyu ready to slay the Bull

Paraguay will appear on the world stage tomorrow at 2:30ET. It will be the quarterfinals of the World Cup against Spain, nothing less. The odds and probabilities are stacked against our beloved Albirroja, but this this is not a new situation for Paraguay. Qualifying and competing regularly against the likes of Argentina and Brazil thickens your skin. Paraguay will rise to the occasion.
Spain
Spain is one of the most spectacular sides in the World Cup. Their likely line-up for tomorrow will be:
Casillas,
Ramos, Pique, Puyol, Capdevila
Iniesta, Xavi Alonso, Busquets, Xavi
Villa, Llorente
Torres has been under fire for poor performances so we might no see him come on as a starter.
Paraguay
Martino looks like he has some tricks up his sleeves for tomorrow. The starting line-up is announced as,
Villar
Veron, Da Silva, Alcaraz, Morel
Santana, Riveros, Caceres, Barreto
Valdez, Cardozo
Barreto has always been a favorite of Martino. His performance against Japan has gotten him a position in the starting XI. Fortunately, Victor Caceres is back. We will breathe much easier in the back thanks to this.
“Tacuara” Cardozo earned his position in the game against Japan and will start tomorrow. May he show his worth and shine!
Lucas Barrios, Santa Cruz, and Vera are probably going to come on later in the game.
Run of Play
The Spanish press has completely written off Paraguay, and I cannot accept this. Spain has had trouble scoring on both Switzerland and Honduras. We are ten times stronger than any of these teams.
I can see Paraguay containing the Spaniards the whole game. But we have an ace up our sleeves. We have five world class strikers that will be itching to open the score sheet. None of them have scored yet, but none of them have had as clear scoring opportunities as Fernando Torres has missed for Spain.
The Spanish Bull will face the Paraguayan “kuriyu”. This is the anaconda that lies in the swamps of Paraguay. We will slowly wrap ourselves around the Spanish bull, and gradually, but surely squeeze the life out of the mother country.
VIVA PARAGUAY! FUERZA ALBIRROJA! A VENCER O MORIR!
