1979 was a great year for the Paraguayan football: the national team won the American Cup; the young national team made a good presentation in the Japan World Cup, Olimpia won the Libertadores Cup and later the Intercontinental Cup (actually that was at the beginning of 1980, but was the 1979 edition), and of course, I was born in Asuncion. What my born has to do with all these? Really nothing, it was a good way to start the bio.
Because my grandfather was the goalkeeper of Olimpia and the national team, football runs in my family veins. After years of playing football, around 1997 I found the position where I work best, as a spectator, probably the most suffering, painful and stressful of all positions.
With my team Olimpia, I tasted the sweetness of winning (Libertadores Cup 1990 and 2002), but our national team still owes me something. The dream of our father was seen our national team playing in a World Cup, but after 3 presentations (Mexico ‘86, France ‘98 and Korea/Japan ‘02) the dream of every Paraguayan fan is seen our team made to the quarters.
