Salvador Cabanas recovering from Gunshot wound to the Head

After days of fighting for his life, it looks like Salvador Cabanas is well on his way to recovery.
Cabanas was shot in the forehead in a Mexico City Bar early on Jan 25th. He immediately underwent surgery where surgeons cleaned and dressed his wound but did not take the bullet out. It remains lodged in the back of his head.
Cabanas’ condition was critical and millions in Paraguay, Mexico, and around the world have prayed for him. It seems that these mass demonstrations of affection, support, and faith have brought Cabanas back from the verge of death.
His own attitude has been inspiring. He arrived to the hospital conscious and reportedly told his wife “I will get through this”. Other stories report him saying things like, “I want to eat ASADO” and “Papa, I will play the World Cup”.
Considering how quickly he has been recovering, it is not premature to think about whether he will be able to play again. A full recovery from such trauma depends on factors such as age and health, as well as consciousness and mobility at the time of injury. By all accounts, it just may be that Cabanas makes a full recovery.
His doctor has stated that he has movement and strength in all his limbs. He has even said the bullet in his head would be no impediment to playing, as long as he keeps his skills.
Cabanas keeps surprising us, and who knows, we might even see him at the most important sporting event in the world this June!
